Was this really invented just for the V-2, or was it off the shelf technology then? It would be good to have a deeper look at the history and also get some references. For example, it's unlikely that Mueller invented the gas bearing. In Boris Chertok's book, he describes how the Soviets reverse engineered V-2 guidance systems, but he notes that the gyros in the V-2 were German copies of well known Sperry gyroscope products. So the history of these devices could very well extend back to the 1930s or 1920s. DonPMitchell (talk) 21:35, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
