Is it always capitalized?
editThe two refs I just edited use a capitalized "Outside" in the middle or end of the sentence. My sample size of 2 makes me wonder if is it always capitalized. If so perhaps someone could track down a ref that confirms or deny my hypothesis. 68.165.77.171 (talk) 01:13, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- I have no sources, just personal experience, and I've always known it to be capitalized, if for no other reason to make clear that it is not "outside". Consider the example sentence in the article:
- "When I met Ronald, he was the first white person I'd met who was fluent in Yupik, so it came as a big surprise to learn that he was actually born Outside."
- Now compare that with this:
- "When I met Ronald, he was the first white person I'd met who was fluent in Yupik, so it came as a big surprise to learn that he was actually born outside."
- Now compare that with this:
- The second strikes me as, not only ridiculous, but even as a non-sequitur. Unschool 17:31, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Dictionary entry?
editIn its current state, this page doesn't contain any interesting encyclopedic information. Has the term had any e.g. political or historical significance? Wiktionary already has this.__Gamren (talk) 20:01, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
Outsider
editAlso in use is the term Outsider, as a person from Outside. Gonna try to find sourcing. 69.178.92.32 (talk) 02:19, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
