editThe following information was removed on 9-22-10 because it is trivial: "The ceremony was closed with a proper collation to the gentlemen in the Council Chamber; during which the following toasts were given by the president of the council and heartily pledged by the company:
- 'Prosperity and perpetuity to the United States of America.'
- 'The American Congress.'
- 'General Washington, and success to the arms of the United States.'
- 'The downfall of tyrants and tyranny.'
- 'The universal prevalence of civil and religious liberty.'
- 'The friends of the United States in all quarters of the globe.'" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.92.71.94 (talk) 15:14, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Charles Bullfinch
editBullfinch wasn't born until 1763. His first building was in 1788. He could not have been the architect on the Old State House. 24.90.250.112 (talk) 15:46, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Also, the first elected legislature in the New World was not in Massachusetts. It was the Virginia House of Burgesses (1619) which predates even the founding of either the Plymouth or Massachusetts Bay colonies (the antecedents to the present-day state of Massachusetts.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.104.77.75 (talk) 03:04, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Lion and Unicorn
editIt is too simplistic to call these 'symbols of the British Monarchy'. Yes, they are heraldic symbols, and therefore used in monarchic coats of arms. However, their significance is far broader, representing the constituent Anglo-Saxon and Celtic traditions, respectively, of the United Kingdom. 92.29.33.26 (talk) 18:37, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
