Hello
I think this article could benefit from further detail on the Company and information on the technology used by Ocean Infinity:
[Information to be added]: Ocean Infinity is a sea bed exploration company with a permanently mobilised ocean search capability. It uses Hugin autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that are capable of operating in water depths from 5 meters to 6,000 meters and covering vast areas of the seabed [1]. The AUVs are not tethered to their host vessel during operations, allowing them to go deeper and collect higher quality data for the search [1]. They are equipped with a variety of tools including side scan sonar, a multi-beam echo-sounder HD camera, and synthetic aperture sonar. In addition, from the host vessel, Ocean Infinity can deploy two work class ROVs and heavy lifting equipment capable of retrieving objects weighing up to 45T from 6000m. The AUV fleet is accompanied by six unmanned surface vehicles (USV) to ensure precise positioning and constant communication.
[Information to be added] Ocean Infinity is supporting the Weddell Sea Expedition (weddellseaexpedition.org) taking place in 2019 [6]. The focus of the expedition is the scientific investigation of the Larsen C Ice Shelf in the Weddell Sea. The Ocean Infinity AUV and ROV technology will enable measurement of a range of physical and biological parameters beneath the ice-shelf and the sea-ice. The data collected will provide information on the biological systems of this extreme environment, and together with above-ice measurements, contribute to the understanding of sea-ice conditions in the Weddell Sea and the implications for ocean currents and climate change. [6]
Explanation of issue: Updating article to provide more information on Ocean infinity and the technology used.

@Bear2018: Your edit request could not be reviewed because the request is not formatted correctly.
- The citation style predominantly used by the Ocean Infinity article appears to be Citation Style 1 (or CS1). The citation style used in the edit request consists of bare URL's.[a] Any requested edit of yours which may be implemented will need to resemble the current style already in use in the article – in this case, CS1. (See WP:CITEVAR.)
- As CS1 was not used, the citation ref tags (superscript numbers linked to the reference, such as [1]) are not auto-generated within the requested text indicating which portions of the text the source is referencing. Instead, the ref numbers have been manually placed into the requested text (e.g., [1], [2], etc.).
In the collapsed section below titled Request edit examples, I have illustrated two: The first shows how the edit request was submitted; the second shows how requests should be submitted in the future.

In the example above there are three URL's provided with the claim statements, but these URL's have not been placed using Citation Style 1, which is the style predominantly used by the Ocean Infinity article. Additionally, as CS1 has not been used, the ref tags have not been auto-generated by the software to be placed within the text at the exact positions where the information they reference resides. Using the correct style and the correct auto-generation of the ref tags, the WikiFormatted text would resemble the following:
In the example above the references have been formatted according to Citation Style 1, which shows the author, the source's name, date, etc. Also, the ref tags are correctly auto-generated in the exact location where the text which they reference resides. As Wikipedia is a volunteer project, edit requests such yours are generally expected to have this formatting done before the request is submitted for review. |
Kindly rewrite your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example shown in the collapsed section above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor. Regards, Spintendo 17:32, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Notes
- ^ The use of bare URLs as references is a style which is acceptable for use in Wikipedia. However, general practice dictates that the style already in use for an article be the one that is subsequently used for all future additions unless changed by editorial consensus. (See WP:CITEVAR.)
I think it's more important to note that the proposed text is entirely unsupported by the citations--the technical details claimed are not included in the first link and Ocean Infinity is not even mentioned in the second one. Regardless of formatting, the request should be declined until adequate sourcing is provided. The Wicked Twisted Road (talk) 19:19, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
