I attended Northwestern Military and Naval Academy for a semester.
Our Company (A) won drill honors for the first time in 12 years, thanks (partly) to some choreography suggestions by yours truly.
Looked here and finding out that after they merged with (once fierce rivals) St. John's, they tore down Davidson hall saddens me.
All those thousands of square feet of oak and marble, the silent echoes of thousands of young men assembling in formation, many of whom trained there, enlisted, went overseas in the name of our country and found glory or who never returned, who felt the same homesickness, carried the same '03 Springfields, explored the same trenches, looked out over the same lake, all that shared history and communing of spririts, the ghosts and faintly heard company calls, the <CRACK> of guidons hitting the floor... now only exist in a memorial plaque.
