Other gallantry awards etc
editIn addition to the awards already mentioend in the text, a quick search of the London Gazette gives:

(help) - A bar to DFC for Acting Squadron Leader. William Edmund EAGLETON, D.F.C. (Aus.403727) and 9 DFCs to other members of the squadron "No. 37182". The London Gazette (invalid

Are these also worth a mention? Unfortunately the search can be a bit hit-and-miss, so there's no guarantee that this is exhaustive. David Underdown (talk) 12:59, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
From the same source, Sgt Blair was also commissioned shortly after the incident mentioned, and was a Flight Lieutenant by the end of the war. Hopkins and Clayton both remained in the RAF after the war, Hopkins retiring as a Wing Commander in 1975, and Clayton as a Squadron Leader in 1962 - is this worth a mention? - Good work David. I wouldn't normally mention decorations/promotions in a squadron article unless they are of VC/near equivalent or significant in some other way. Grant | Talk 03:08, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- 10 decorations in one go looks as if it might be significant - unfortunately no citations are given for those. I have used the tactic of giving brief pen portraits of decorate members of a squadron to give a little more human interest see No. 233 Squadron RAF for example, but maybe there's already enough on this squadron.
