Was Nikkō Station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright?

edit

This claim is made on many websites, however it doesn't appear in either William Allin Storrer's catalog or http://www.wrightinjapan.org. There also seems to be some discrepancy as to when this station was built. For example, [1] says 1890, while [2] says 1915. If 1890 is the correct date, it seems unlikely that this is a Wright design as he was still working as a draftsman for Louis Sullivan in Chicago in 1890, and did not have any substantive connections at that time to Japan. If 1915 is the correct date, then this station could possibly be a Wright design as Wright went to Japan for the first time in 1906 and received the commission for the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo around 1913. --Waltloc (talk) 14:40, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
