"It is not withdrawing from the treaty, but is suspending its participation,"
"On Tuesday, he also accused the US of "developing new types of nuclear weapons". He warned that if the United States conducts tests of new nuclear weapons, Russia would do the same."
I don't wanna do a modern journalism and accuse them of de facto withdrawing, but these things might be something to make note of in the article itself. DarmaniLink (talk) 12:53, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
People keep changing the infobox to say that it "expired" today, or that the suspension counts as an expiry. I do think that for something this critical and sensitive, it's worth being extremely pedantic about it and clarifying that the treaty has not expired, but Russia has suspended participation. Any thoughts on how best to convey that? Smallangryplanet (talk) 16:05, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
To my understanding, is that they will keep to the commitment of not increasing their nuclear arsenal, but they won't allow for the regular inspections.
Here's the russian version of the treaty from the kremlin, pulled it off the Russian wikipedia page. Would you like to see this included, alongside the US version in sourcing? If you look at the bottom of the page, you can find the english version.
