Recreation and undeletion
editI am going to be bold (at the risk of using admin priviledges to do so) and undelete the former article. Deletion as potential vanity was arguably valid, the article was a sub-stub and gave insufficient evidence of notability.
But the person in question is clearly notable, to the point that it seems silly to waste the time of others discussing it. If any disagree, I suggest a full AFD this time around.
Undeletion is necessary to preserve the edit history for copyleft purposes, as I'm going to use some of the former text. Andrewa (talk) 20:53, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Naming
editThe rename isn't in any way sinister, Google [1] [2] leads me to believe that this is the better article title. Andrewa (talk) 20:53, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Notability and dating
editWhen all the speaker manufacturers in the world publish specifications in the system created by and named after Dr Thiele, and the Australian ITEE College has named its "most prestigious award" [3] after him, it does suggest some notability.
Loudspeakers in Vented Boxes: Part 1 was published in Proceedings of the IRE Australia in August, 1961. [4] Richard Small's updates followed from 1971 - 1973 (see Thiele/Small). I don't know where the 1976 date comes from. Ampwright (talk) 19:23, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Death
editAn editor added a death date which I reverted as I can't find any obituary or news story about his passing.--Racklever (talk) 08:53, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
