Splitting article
editSince the National Assembly is no more after the coup, I suggest that there should be another article about the National Legislative Assembly. --TeruM (talk) 12:49, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
Proposed merger
editParliament of Thailand 2005-2006 should be merged here under a history section. There is little point in leaving the old article nearly an orphan while useful information could be consolidated into one article. (The past election summaries are not needed, since there are full articles on the elections) --Paul_012 (talk) 13:59, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Redirect
editNational Assembly of Thailand is not the common term used in Thailand. It'd be either Parliament of Thailand or National Legislative Assembly of Thailand. Pls consider redirecting or renaming. In Thai wiki, National Legislative Assembly is divided into chronological ordered articles as in this link th:สภานิติบัญญัติแห่งชาติ_(แก้ความกำกวม) -Look-Narm (talk) 11:58, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes it is, as it is used in the official English translation of the 2007 Constitution (the latest one). Therefore the official name must be respected and not which one is most widely used (in the media and such). P.S. the term "National Assembly" and "Parliament" are inter-changeable ad translate into the same Thai word: รัฐสภา (the word Congress, Chamber and Council, for other legislatures) all translate into the one Thai word. And also the National Legislative Assembly is called สภานิติบัญญัติแห่งชาติ because it was always created by the military with appointed members to make law (and only that) (นิติ=law) (Legis = law (latin) and they must distinguish it from a REAL National Assembly which is (usually) elected by the people with full functions.Sodacan (talk) 18:15, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

There was a coup in Thailand on 22 May 2014
editA group of military leaders which called themselves NCPO staged a coup on 22 May 2014. The National Assembly of Thailand, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, have been abolished. the NCPO appointed the member of the National Legislative Council in place of the National Assembly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.0.3.124 (talk) 13:43, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
