Proposed merge
editI propose merging EvenHand soundtrack into this article for multiple reasons. First, the soundtrack has never been released. Second, there are more than just Mike Doughty songs in the movie, but EvenHand soundtrack only discusses Doughty's songs. Since the infobox on that page is pretty much just speculation, it's useless. I think the info there would be better suited as a section on Mike Doughty's page, which could do with some expansion anyway (regardless of this merge). —Slicing 02:20, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- You're absolutely correct. Rhobite 03:11, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Mike Doughty Editing His Own Page
editAm I the only one kinda bothered about this? I mean, it's kind of a good and kind of bad. On the one hand we have a very good source for things concerning Mike. But on the other hand he could say anything he wanted and who could contradict him? --MightyGiant 21:07, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's fantastic that Doughty (or his people) take the time to care for Doughty's wiki article. What on earth would we contradict him on? It is supposed to be neuteral. --Schalicto 22:47, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've tried hard to be neutral here, and also to be transparent about my role in editing the page, but it is Wikipedia, so if there's any disagreement, I know very well that I can be counter-edited.
--Mikeydough 12:55, 11 May 2006 (EST)
- I think you've kept it mostly neutral.. thanks for the contribs. (Disclaimer: huge fan) Rhobite 23:53, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I agree (and about the huge fan bit). I don't remember but one of your first edits kinda bothered me in its tone but all in all I think its a very good thing. I think I even added you to a list somewhere of people with articles who edit wikipedia. Dalf | Talk 00:48, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- I've added "fact" templates to the doc. Even if Mike is adding the content he still needs to find "published" sources. :o)
Removed fact templates. Sources: BNL tour: http://www.nbc4.com/dcscene/10174784/detail.html Letterman appearance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIlZWx-UyWs ATO release of Haughty Melodic: http://www.popmatters.com/music/reviews/d/doughtymike-haughty.shtml Warner Bros. rejection of Skittish: http://www.newsreview.com/sacramento/PrintFriendly?oid=oid%3A178769
- There's still peacock words, if not outright POV. I took a pass at cleaning it up a bit. The YouTube link is useless, since it is copyvio. I've placed the WB rejection link, and will add some more fact check tags. -- Mikeblas 15:19, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Slanky?
editWhat about mentioning his book of poetry, Slanky? Furthermore, Skittish was available through the internet. Significant? SplitCalyx 16:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
connection to Pensacola
editI have heard various things about Mike and Pensacola, including that he lived there for a time. I'm from there myself, and saw Soul Coughing play in town once, which is where I heard some of those things. Of course, there's also the song Pensacola on El Oso. Does anyone know more? Mike, I know you contribute here; do you have anything to add regarding that? -- stubblyhead | T/c 20:52, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Soul Coughing
editI find it weird that there's only one sentence dedicated to Soul Coughing. If this is meant to be encyclopedic, it can't gloss over nearly a decade of Mike's career.TremorMilo (talk) 20:53, 22 March 2008 (UTC)TremorMilo
- Agreed. One of many major issues with this page.--DonkeyPunchResin (talk) 16:05, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

This page needs some work
editReads a bit too much like a fan bio. I commend Doughty for his even hand and transparency though. And for looking at the world from a bottom of a well. And ruby vroom and soft serve. And for appraising me that St. Louis is listening. Uh huh uh huh. etc. Let me (or hopefully someone else let’s be honest) get down on editing his Wikipedia page. --DonkeyPunchResin (talk) 16:04, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
