For the record, No! I do not claim original authorship, I have no idea who wrote that article but for the good of Wikipedia I am in the process of clearing it to be used on here by contacting the museum, I will see what I can do so that the article can remain, if not then I agree it should be deleted... of course. WEST MIDLANDS ROUTES QUESTION: Were Midland Red's routes within the West Midlands technically transferred to the West Midlands Passenger Transport *Executive* (not Authority) in *1974* (not 1973)? Unremitting 21:50, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... "First has taken over Midland Red West, trading initially as First Wyvern and latterly simply as First." I'm sure I remember them being "First Midland Red" when First took over. Perhaps First Wyvern wasn't a universal trading name? Beeurd (talk) 21:07, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

^^^ Midland Red West Limited changed their name to "First Midland Red Buses Limited" on 26th March 1999. This the the legal company name which remains to this date, and can be seen on the legal lettering shown on the sides of their vehicles. Cleanup

Added a clean up tag as most of article is a giant list and bus route info which may be more suited to UK Transport wiki or similar projects. No references, and lack of info like were company is actually originally from, so history could perhaps be expanded to balance article out - BulldozerD11 (talk) 03:21, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

The list of former routes is incomplete - I lived in Wythall in the 1960's and 1970's. I believe the following Midland Red routes operated

148 Birmingham to Evesham 348 Birmingham to Evesham via Harvington 170 Wythall to Acocks Green Via Grimes Hill 172 Wythall to Acocks Green Via Alcester Road 179 Earlswood to Birmingham.

In the Mid 1970's these were replaced

170/172 were withdrawn and replaced by a WMPTE bus to Solihull, The Birmingham to Evesham buses were routed via Redditch - I think there was a 248 from Birmingham to Redditch Via Wythall - I am right?

SOS

When these buses operated by Trent were a regular sight where I live, I was told SOS stood for "Shires Own Specification" 10:15, 19 September 2021 (UTC)~
