Notability
editI will say to start that I am a fan of Megan Nicole, am subscribed to her YouTube channel, and like her music (both covers and original material). The sources provided from the Houston Chronicle and The Straits Times in Singapore present more than just a mere mention of her, and may be significant enough to establish, if only barely, some level of notability according to Wikipedia's guidelines, per WP:GNG. I'm discounting the ones from VIBE Vixen and The News Tribune, as neither add significant coverage, and the latter appears to be only for promoting/advertising her. As Cunard says in the appeal page, those last two sources are "supplemental" to the other sources.
Regarding her notability in her profession, which must follow WP:MUSICBIO, I am very skeptical about the article standing on that merit. She has been signed to Bad Boy Records for almost two years, and there has been word for a while about her releasing a debut album, but no delivery. This deals a serious blow to her being notable as a musician, as she also has not had her already released music on any chart in Billboard. (Please note, I do not count the "Social 50" chart in establishing notability in WP:MUSICBIO, as that is a measure of her popularity as a musician among social media sites; it only provides an indirect measure of the popularity of her music.) Her public exposure seems to be limited to the Internet, with no known appearances on national TV talk/news programs (please provide me with footage on that if I'm wrong), which could boost her being notable. Still, having more sources around that establish her notability under the general guidelines is better than what Wikipedia has seen about her.
If this article is not allowed to stand, someone suggested from the AfD discussion about placing Megan in the List of YouTube personalities, where Megan right now is not listed. And I would endorse that, particularly on account of the two sources I mentioned above that establish her notability.

- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Megan Nicole (2nd nomination) was closed as keep after agreement that Megan Nicole passes WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. Cunard (talk) 05:53, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Native name?
editI have seen the following edits recently: [1] [2] [3]. I needed to find out the description of this infobox entry, and it says in the template instructions: "This field is only relevant for individuals. The artist's name in their own language." Two of those edits specified her apparent name in Indonesian, which goes against the instructions regarding language, and is also unsourced. As the instructions on the usage of the attribute (native_name) are otherwise unclear, I don't find it necessary to use — unless someone could shed some better light on the appropriate use of native name — so please refrain from using this attribute. And as this is a WP:BLP article, any such addition needs to be reliably sourced. Thank you. MPFitz1968 (talk) 14:29, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with your reverts of this unsourced information here. And that the additions are against the template instructions also indicates that this should not be added even if reliable sources were found. Cunard (talk) 04:56, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
