Martin Van Maele is the alias of Maurice Martin and was a French artist with no known collection with Belgium. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.74.74.164 (talkcontribs) 21:25, 3 May 2007

A heads up, please?

I might be alone here, but I think the article could use some mention of Maele's blatant paedophilia. Because I just read "erotica," went to the commons to check it out, and found little children having sex. I understand that this can't be deleted (I wanted to, but it's already been denied) but most people, myself included, don't want to see that and little warning would be nice. 50.125.163.124 (talk) 07:25, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit: Something like "Warning: Child nudity" or "Sexual content involving children" or "Pedobear seal of approval" would help keep people from stumbling into it. And if they don't read it, that's their fault and they can't be upset about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.125.163.124 (talk) 10:41, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

You're not alone. The guy was a sick bastard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.151.233 (talk) 01:50, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wow I was curious about his artwork, and then I see there's straight up cp made by that guy. What a sick vile person 66.38.5.92 (talk) 22:13, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I don't know of any source that accuses van Maele of being a pedophile. He may be known for erotica, but he was a much broader ranging artist (as you can tell from the list of books illustrated) and La Grande danse macabre des vifs deals with some pretty dark areas of sexuality: I don't think the nightmarish image illustrating this article leaves any other impression, but even so the images are not erotica concerning "little children having sex". --Simon Speed (talk) 01:20, 10 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Maurice François Alfred Martin van Miële, better known by his pseudonym Martin van Maële

According to the body, his father's surname was Martin and his mother's was van Maële, so where did van Miële come from? —Tamfang (talk) 04:57, 26 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
