I came across this article by accident, and I don't know anything about its subject. But nothing in the article indicated to me how Ashton meets the notability qualification for Wikipedia. If anyone knows, please add the information from reliable sources to the article. There are many little charities in the world, and many people who live perfectly good lives, who even affect the lives of tens of thousands of people. Neither is really enough to be notable. Mark Ashton will become more notable once the public have seen the new movie Pride in which he takes an important role, played by an actor of course. The entry will then need updating in light of the increased interest in his story. Thankyou 91.125.97.232 (talk) 22:02, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have no problem with 'Irish' if Ashton identified as such, but as the page stands he was born in Oldham and grew up in county Derry before settling in London, all of which are in the UK. Did he hold an Irish passport, or do we have secondary WP:RS cites apart from Chris Birch that someone can add to back this up please, the refs are terribly formatted.
