Oppose and instead support ALT1 suggested by Roman Spinner in the nom (but not so labelled): Keep Marc Phillips, move Mark Philips (politician) to Mark Philips and move Mark Phillips (Guyanese politician) to Mark Phillips (politician). Use hatnotes on all three pages for clarification: This article is about the Guyanese politician. For the English politician, see Mark Philips. For the Welsh politician, see Marc Phillips., etc. This on the basis that differences in spelling, however minor, are sufficient for disambiguating topics in article titles – that's roughly what WP:SMALLDIFFERENCES is about, although it doesn't directly address the issue of different letters in a spelling. If anything, differing letters might be a more substantial difference than the differing capitalisations and differing punctuation which WP:SMALLDIFFERENCES does cover.
