Former good article nomineeMalvern Fringe Festival was a good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Article does not meet the Good article criteria. The lead is too short, and doesn't summarize the article. The article is incomplete; only really contains info on the history. Controversy section is one sentence, and doesn't seem to talk about anything controversial. Lots of photos, which are good, but a bit too many photos in proportion to the amount of text. The notable past performers section is just a list, and without any references, it's impossible to determine 'notability' of any of these performers (or even if they actually appeared at the festival to begin with). There are several external links within the article text as well -- external links should only be found in an 'external links' section, with only internal wikilinks within the article. There are only four references for the entire article. The bottom line -- this article is just incomplete. Dr. Cash (talk) 16:41, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Malvern Fringe logo.jpg

edit

Image:Malvern Fringe logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review
