MaihuaMai Chinese

@Kwamikagami: I see you moved this from "Mai dialect" a few years ago, but the sources generally do use that term, and I can only find one that uses "Maihua". Given the serious confusion caused by the word "dialect" when dealing with Chinese languages, I suggest "Mai Chinese" as a better alternative. Theknightwho (talk) 16:18, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I chose "Maihua" because we generally use "X Chinese" for the major branches. But I suppose it would be okay here, with the provision that it would need to be moved if classified as Yue etc. "Dialect" is fine for Chinese when we're dealing with dialects, but in this case we don't know if it's a dialect. — kwami (talk) 17:16, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
