Destinations
editDoes anyone know if this website is a credible source for this airline's destinations? Mahalo Air Schedule --Resplendent (talk) 00:25, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- That is, in fact, Mahalo Air's old web site. At the time, Islander Magazine was their in-flight magazine. Ten years after shutting down, it's still there, with the "all flights temporarily suspended" message. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 02:18, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Fleet
editIt looks like there's actually some conflicting info about this out there. The site I used for the table in the article lists 6 aircraft, but this one lists 13. Was this due to some being on order, then cancelled when the company went into bankruptcy, or did the carrier actually operate more than 6? --Resplendent (talk) 17:39, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Airfleets seems to be pretty reliable. You'd have to take a close look at the dates to see how things line up, but as I remember it, at one point Mahalo switched to older ATR42s which were less expensive to lease but ended up having more engine problems, causing reliability issues and ultimately more replacement costs. That was one of the reasons cited when they stopped flying. Digging through the Star Bulletin archives would probably yield some good info. As an aside, one article I checked indicated they were flying 7 aircraft at one point. One other issue is that neither site accounts for the F.27s the airline used when they started up initially and the flights were operated by Empire. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 23:24, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- I crosschecked with Airlinerlist.com's list and they show 13 ATR42s. It looks like the Planespotters.net list misses most of the ATR42-300 fleet. I also added the F27 data based on Airlinerlist.com's data. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 23:38, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
The usage of Mahalo (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is up for discussion, see talk:Mahalo (word) -- 65.92.181.39 (talk) 23:03, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
