Rick Scott calls for the death penalty to Mangione

Does this belongs in the article? --Trade (talk) 23:36, 4 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

No, Rick Scott's opinions have nothing to do with Mangione himself. There's no need to single out his opinion and give it WP:UNDUE weight on this BLP. Some1 (talk) 00:07, 5 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Does this belong in Killing of Brian Thompson? Trade (talk) 00:56, 5 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure about "belong", but the relevant place to add it is Killing of Brian Thompson#Politicians. Some1 (talk) 00:59, 5 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Source 10 refers to Executive Order 14164, not 14163 (as listed.

I would like to hear any arguments against including the subjects website in their own infobox Trade (talk) 17:15, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Which website? guninvalid (talk) 17:18, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
The one currently in the infobox Trade (talk) 17:39, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Remove. luigimangioneinfo.com is not his official website and does not claim to be. guninvalid (talk) 17:48, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Remove. The website is not his own official website. It is his legal defense creating a website to post relevant documents. I guess you could nitpick what "official website" means (as you did by calling my edit "nonsensical" and reverting it), but the spirit of this certainly is that it is someone's website about them and their work, not a tool used by lawyers to consolidate legal information and paint the narrative that he is innocent. From the website: "Due to the extraordinary volume of inquiries and outpouring of support, this site was created and is maintained by Luigi Mangione’s New York legal defense team to provide answers to frequently asked questions, accurate information about his cases, and dispel misinformation. The intent is to share factual information regarding the unprecedented, multiple prosecutions against him." Upjav (talk) 18:40, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
That makes it the official website of his defense, but not of Mangione himself. I'd say this fails WP:ELOFFICIAL #1, and #2 doesn't apply. guninvalid (talk) 19:27, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Mangione is controlling the website. He just have his legal team doing it on his behalf for obvious reasons Trade (talk) 19:52, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
The only thing i called nonsensical was your claim of the site being a form of "promotional" Trade (talk) 18:42, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
May have been the wrong wording. I was thinking of the donation solicitation aspect of it. Otherwise, sure, I can retract the use of "promotional". Upjav (talk) 18:47, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Restore the link. The lawyers are agents of Mangione and therefore the website belongs to him. Anne drew (talk · contribs) 14:15, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

An "American man"?

edit

How often does a Wikipedia article begin with "Joe is an American man...." I looked at a few other biographies and none were written that way. It's obvious he's a man and the moment you read "he" in the article is yet another clue. It seems weird to call him a "man" that is not what makes him noteworthy and it's kind of obvious 2603:8081:8700:2732:5DDC:EAB9:12AD:57B8 (talk) 20:27, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

It is not unusual; see the search results for "is an American man". Some1 (talk) 20:35, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
