Page name
editThe show is called Love Island USA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TellyShows (talk • contribs) 16:19, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- @TellyShows: It's an alternative name primarily used outside of the U.S. It's been mentioned in the lead and infobox. TheDoctorWho (talk) 21:24, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
Day Number
edit@TheDoctorWho: I really try my best analyzing the episode to figure out what day everything happens on, but did the two new islanders enter on Day 7 or Day 8? I'll try to take a better look at it when it's up on CBS All Access. Jayab314 01:11, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it was Day 7 but I want to make sure. Jayab314 01:14, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: You've been doing great, thanks for the work on the article! As for the day they entered I'm unsure exactly, I've seen episodes 1 and 2 but was busy and missed episode 3 and didn't wanna skip that before watching the rest so haven't seen any others. I plan on catching up soon and hope to be of more help then but can't offer any information now. TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:20, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
@Bsems and TheDoctorWho: I was thinking, and if America casts their votes on Day 25 in the villa (Fiji time), and the votes are supposedly revealed next episode (Day 22, 23 at the latest), then we need to recount the days. Would anyone be willing to help me count the days? I will have a specific sandbox for day counting on my sandbox. Thanks! Jayab314 01:06, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- I'm editing the NFL Top 100 Players of 2019, right now, for the next two hours but I can help count the days tomorrow since they are mixed up. Thanks for catching that error. Bsems 01:09, Thursday, August 1, 2019 (UTC)
- I'm suspecting my day tracker is off on my user page. It showed that it is Day 25 in Fiji, but it is most likely Day 22 right now, with the elimination in a few hours. I do believe the days are correct as counted in the episodes section since I counted twice and made sure to pay attention to every episode for the night/day transitions. I don't think it's serious, as a simple mistake could explain it. I'll continue in my sandbox to make sure, but I'm 90% positive that it was my day tracker that was off. Jayab314 01:34, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: If you find you still need help I'll be free in a few hours, just let me know. TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:25, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

This is mostly just a note for myself, but my currect day counter says it is Day 30 in the villa. If tomorrow's episode does not extend to Day 30 (spanning four nights and three days), then the day count is wrong since we voted during their Day 30 and votes can be announced to the Islanders literal minutes after the voting closes. Also, my day counter is set so that July 9 is Day 1 since the first episode aired on July 10 Fijian time. Jayab314 01:01, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
I'm going crazy about this, I know, but I think the season being 29 days would be fine too, but if the finale doesn't end on Day 29/30, then we have to recount. Jayab314 23:50, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
Vulnerable Color
edit@TheDoctorWho: I think the color of the vulnerable should be pink, the color you choose seems to be too bright and not fit in. Pink is used for reality shows to show when someone is in danger, it also matches the color scheme. User:Bsems 21:31, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- I choose the current color when looking at Big Brother articles as the format is fairly similar. I think the blue goes along with the yellow quite nicely. Perhaps a different color for single to make everything look smoother if that's your only problem? TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:35, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: Okay, I do understand that because that is the nomination color. I do still think it looks too bright and think lightgreen, lightblue, and pink works better for this color scheme. User:Bsems 21:41, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Season 1 article
edit@TheDoctorWho and Bsems: If we think it's necessary right now, I can go ahead and draft up an article for season 1. Jayab314 17:33, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
I made a quick draft up (it could use some work), but I'll publish it when it's agreed upon. Jayab314 17:50, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: I'd support splitting but I'd wait til we'd get a bit closer to the second season. We'll also need to prepare a version of this article for if/when it's split. TheDoctorWho (talk) 20:45, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- Split the article if a season two is confirmed. If the show only lasts one season there's no need for a separate article. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 01:04, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jjj1238: Season two's confirmed. Plenty of confirmed sources about it too just from a quick google search ([1]) TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:15, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: Ah I didn't realize. I wouldn't be opposed to splitting into a separate article then. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 02:45, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho and Jjj1238: We can edit my draft until we decide it's necessary to split. Jayab314 11:16, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: We definitely all agree that the article should be split, it's just a question as to when. TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:47, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

@TheDoctorWho: I think it should be soon after the finale, since a season 2 is guarenteed. Jayab314 00:54, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: I suppose I'd be fine with doing it soon. I'll start prepping a version of this article in one of my sandboxes for when we split. TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:02, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- Alright, for @Jayab314: or anyone else who wants to contribute to that draft it's gonna be at User:theDoctorWho/sandbox3. TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:13, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- If I'm not mistaken (I will have to double check MOS:TV later) I don't think a table should be created for Season 2 just yet just a line it has been renewed as it is WP:TOOEARLY for a season two article to be created yet. We have to wait until the first episode of season two has an actual airdate before it gets a table. This is how I've seen scripted shows handled. Also the season one article should not duplicate the series article except for a description of the format and for some key information about the development. If the two have a lot of duplicating content someone may try to merge them back into one before season two premieres. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 08:54, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Alucard 16: I've hidden the series overview table for now per MOS:TVOVERVIEW. I don't believe there's a specific requirement on when to create a table I just think it's that it has to have information. For example, in a scripted show I see no problem with creating a table if you have an episode title, the writer, and the director but not an airdate. I do agree that it is definitely WAY too soon for a season two article. The duplication of content has crossed my mind but I'm attempting to work with that (like switching {{television episode ratings}} for {{television season ratings}} and {{television ratings graph}}). Once the drafts are done we can have an official discussion on when to split or any changes that need to be done. TheDoctorWho (talk) 09:29, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: Oh I had no problems with the overview table I was talking about this table in your sandbox lol. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 09:34, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Alucard 16: Either way without that table on this page MOS:TVOVERVIEW still applies here. As for the table in my sandbox it's a question of how specific of a date? I mean Sumer 2020 technically narrows it done to a period of 90 days out of 365 . TheDoctorWho (talk) 09:45, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: My educated understanding of MOS:TVUPCOMING (really a guess here) is when CBS announces the start date. Between us sometimes I think these things read like stereo instructions. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 09:56, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Alucard16: Oh yeah definitely read like stereo instructions. Someone should do something about that . Maybe MOS:FUTURESEASON?
A section heading for the upcoming season should be added to the page only when an episode table can be created for the season
although that doesn't really specify what constitutes a created table (someone could definitely add a full table of TBA values to the table and call that created )... TheDoctorWho (talk) 10:17, 3 August 2019 (UTC) - @Alucard 16: mis-typed above. TheDoctorWho (talk) 10:18, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

- @Jayab314: I'm down for it if you are, we can do any other editing we need afterwards as we have two solid articles. TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:28, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: Ok, then I guess I'll create the article for season 1 and you can replace this page with your sandbox. Jayab314 01:29, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
Coupling Table
edit@Jayab314:, regarding the coupling table wouldn't day 24 fall under week 5? TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:11, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: Yes, thank you for catching that. I will go change that now. Jayab314 00:14, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
- No worries, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything thanks for fixing it! TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:16, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
Finalists image
edit@Bsems and TheDoctorWho: I wanted to open a discussion about adding this photo of the finalists to the Islanders section. Jayab314 23:45, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: I think that's a great idea. I was also thinking about splitting a list of islanders article similar to a list of Big Brother houseguests article. Thoughts? TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:45, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: We can definitely do that, but I don't know how Winston Hines would redirect to two pages... Jayab314 00:47, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: I actually already thought about that and supposing I could bring together enough reliable sources and prove notability I planned on creating an article just for him. TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:50, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TheDoctorWho: As long as that article meets WP:BLP, then I'd be fine with it. In order to save the trouble later, use the already existing redirect page and just delete the redirect. Jayab314 01:03, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Jayab314: I agree using the existent article but considering it is a blp I think it's better if we work on it in a sandbox first then copy it over? It's currently at User:TheDoctorWho/sandbox6, feel free to edit. TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:19, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

Season 2 Premiere Date Cancelled
editAccording to Futon Critic, we'll have to wait a lot longer for Season 2. http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/love-island/listings/ Lonniemitchell22 (talk) 19:59, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
- Done @Lonniemitchell22: Updated article with reliable source from Deadline explaining postponement and CBS replacing its Sunday timeslot for the first two weeks with movies. Updated all tables accordingly. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 20:44, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Love Island (American TV series)
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Love Island (American TV series)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Social Media ambassador
editIs social media ambassador a new role for season 5? According to the link below Maura Higgins is social media ambassador.
Editing Page- Adding Season 5+6
editI was interested in adding seasons 5 and 6 onto the production part of the page, explaining where it was filmed and explaining how old islanders will be making an appearance. I also wanted to mention how there is a new host Ariana Madix compared to the other seasons when it was Sarah Hyland. Ppeterson14 (talk) 22:39, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
