Merge Proposal

edit

The Local Government Reform Commission no longer exists and only existed briefly for a specific political purpose within the much larger history of Local government in Queensland .. and, having served it's time and purpose .. it's Wikipedia article is unlikely to be further or usefully expanded in the forseeable future, and the account given on that page may be more useful included/merged into Local government in Queensland?!! Agree, especially as it only had one purpose unlike the EARC. What I'll probably do is leave it until I've got the history done and merge it in at that point. Getting the history done is this weekend's task (have all the books out from the library to do it :) Orderinchaos 01:53, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

2008 local government amalgamations

edit

Having merged in the content of the former Local Government Reform Commissio article (and I don't disagree with the reasons to do that), we now have an article with a lot of lead-up to the 2008 amalgamations but no actual amalgamations mentioned. Given that the 2008 amalgamation is mentioned in many articles about Queensland (as many towns, suburbs, and localilties were affected by the changes), it would be nice to have a direct link available to an article about the amalgmations (and subsequent deamalgamations) in a single place. So I think along the lines of creating an article about the 2008 amalgamations (and deamalgamations) which could have the local government reform commission content in it, followed by the list of amalgmations that occurred, followed by the deamalgamations that occurred. Your thoughts? Kerry (talk) 01:14, 8 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
