editThe page contains some contents merged from duplicate article Czech Universities (that has been changed to a redirect). --Mormegil 12:46, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I removed "It is the oldest University north of Alpes" from Charles University; apparently the writer meant "Alps", not "Alpes" (I'm guessing... I can't find any reference to a location called "Alpes") and if "Alps" is what was meant, then it's wrong - see List of oldest universities in continuous operation for counterexamples. - Well, I have not written that, and such trivia probably does not belong to an encyclopedic article anyway, but -- which counterexample do you actually have on mind? I just don't see any in the list you referred to... ;-) I see universities in China, Egypt, Italy, England, France, Spain, and Portugal before the Charles University. Nothing of that is north of Alps, IMHO.
