Country Party
editCountry Party (Rhode Island) has a verification notice that's been up for ten years and from what I can see, there's still very little sourcing that the party was a thing? I've found very very few references to any kind of formalized "Country Party", and most link back to Wikipedia. Major sources list Fenner as:
- Dubin: No party noted until 1797, then Democratic-Republican
- Kallenbach: Anti-Federalist (makes sense)
- Glashan: "Coalition Ticket" in 1790, and then Anti-Federalist.
- Sobel: simply says that he was elected in 1790 in a coalition, him as AF, his lieutenant governor as Federalist.
So, ... do we have any sourcing that says this existed as a distinct party, and/or was the coalition known formally as the "Country Party" in contemporary sources? --Golbez (talk) 14:32, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
