Global Wealth Report 2024

edit

This has been released now:

Global Wealth Databook 2024

[1] (archived version)

Unfortunately, it seems to have less data in it this year at first glance, I also cannot locate the Global Wealth Databook for this year yet (which in previous years was publisher later). Quentin Johnson (talk) 21:44, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

The sentence "whereas a value near 100% can arise in a situation where everybody has zero wealth except a very small minority" must be replaced with "whereas a value near 100% can arise in a situation where everybody has zero wealth except a single person". 91.93.238.170 (talk) 17:40, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I clarified the info in the article. --Timeshifter (talk) 19:36, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The UBS global wealth report 2024 is available with 2023 data: https://www.ubs.com/content/dam/assets/wm/global/insights/doc/global-wealth-report.pdf Ok3737831 (talk) 00:53, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ok3737831. That PDF does not have the full data tables that are needed to create the table in this article. Do you have a link to the full data tables? --Timeshifter (talk) 13:20, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Removed OECD mean household wealth table. Can't find years in reference

edit

Reference that was in the article:

"OECD Better Life Index Income". stats.oecd.org. Retrieved 2023-06-17."Income in Detail by Country" entries include estimates of mean household net wealth. Entries link to BLI database. Click info icon on "Household net wealth" column header to get years.

Table is not much use without referenced years.

OECD's list of countries by mean household wealth (USD)

Location links are "Wealth in LOCATION" or "Economy of LOCATION" links.

@Timeshifter
I do not agree, the table gives a certain perspective of the wealth of households in the developed countries, it is true that there is no current data updated data as of 2023-2024, but according to the research I did, the data has not changed dramatically nor the ranking, the OECD has current data for most countries for 2020, I would appreciate it if you could return to the previous version so that I can update for 2020 for most countries Qplb191 (talk) 02:02, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Qplb191. Do you have a reference for OECD countries that also has years? And if so, please list the exact steps to get to the year for each country's data. Until then, any OECD table with years listed does not meet WP:VERIFY.
Feel free to create a table first in a sandbox. See sandbox info here in this section:
Help:Creating tables#Tables and visual editor - From there:
"So to get VE work done efficiently user sandboxes help a lot: Special:MyPage/sandbox, Special:MyPage/sandbox2, Special:MyPage/sandbox3, etc.."

The most updated data that includes all the countries is 2018 , just updated

Removed OECD mean household financial wealth table. Root source does not have data or years

edit

Moved here to talk page. This is old info. And it is average household financial wealth, not average overall household wealth. As the article states it does not include real estate or housing wealth. And the Business Insider article links to OECD sources that no longer have this data, nor the years. So this table does not meet WP:VERIFY.

Reference:

Cheng, Andy Kiersz, Jenny. "Here's how wealthy the average family is in 35 countries around the world". Business Insider. Retrieved 2024-10-17.{{cite web}}: CS1 maint: multiple names: authors list (link)

Location links are "Wealth in LOCATION" or "Economy of LOCATION" links.

yeah but this is the latest data which the OECD has an data for all countries , I can change the title to financial wealth… Qplb191 (talk) 03:42, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
There is no longer any sourcing for this data. The Business Insider article links to OECD sources that no longer have this financial wealth data, nor the years. The OECD sources it links to has old overall household wealth data without years.
Neither OECD table has sources for the years. So the data is worthless.
So these 2 OECD tables do not meet WP:VERIFY. Anything that can't be verified is not allowed in Wikipedia articles. --Timeshifter (talk) 19:40, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Adult population of North America << Canada + US + Mexico

edit

Ok, the double '<' is maybe a little dramatic. But my point is it's *noticeably* less. Not just a little.

I don't know the real numbers, so I am abstaining from making the edit; just wanted to call attention to this DiceMaster1018 (talk) 05:53, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

See the reference. "See the end of table 4-1 on page 138 for regional numbers. Use page numbers at bottom of pages, not from PDF reader."
Northern America is what the reference is referring to. You can tell by adding up the adult populations of the US and Canada. Plus the other nations in the map on that page. --Timeshifter (talk) 07:29, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
