Style Guide

edit

The following is a style guide for the list on this article (jump to discussion)

Images
  • All images should use a thumbnail width of 150px.
  • All images should be in the 16:9 ratio, and cropped if necessary.
    • All this means is that if your original image is 640px in width, you need to make sure it is also 360px (640/360 = 16/9) in height, so you'll probably need to cut off the top and bottom if it's a screenshot from an early series (later series screenshots are already 16:9).
    • You can crop images before uploading them in any photoediting program... even MS Paint.
  • Please try to use the following naming: Entourage-eYY-0.jpg (where YY for the episode number), e.g. for Episode 3 of Season 10. If more than one screenshot seem necessary change "-0" to "-1", "-2" etc.
  • .JPG is probably preferred.
  • Fair use tag images appropriately; see below
Synopses
  • Try not to push open the cell; ie: stay below 3 lines of text
  • Always try to make the synopses as full as possible, and not just intros. This is so that someone could read this article and get a full plot summary of Entourage without mysterious bits missing. So something like "Turtle and Drama get in a jam" is bad; "Turtle and Drama get into a fight with Seth Green" is better.
  • Try to wikify the synopses as much as possible. Someone might be only reading season 8, so they dont want to have to scroll back up to season 1 to get all the links.
  • Try to make the synopses mention anything important in that episode, for instance Vince landing a new movie role.
Fair use
The following should be the text on all Stargate screenshot image pages that are used on this article:

== Summary == Eric Murphy blows off his girlfriend to avoid temptation from her friend. The author of this image is: Argash, and the source: HBO == Fair use rationale == It is believed that this image qualifies as fair use as this image illustrates a key moment in the episode #Strange Days (Entourage). Further more it is believed that: # The use of a web resolution of a lower quality then broadcast qualifies as fair use. # That a limited number of fair use images taken for each episode and uploaded qualifies as fair use. # That it is believed that this paticular screencap will not limit/impeed the copyright owners (HBO) ability to profit via any medium. Entourage (TV series) == License == tv-screenshot

Source information
You must also specify where you found the image.
Episode articles
See Wikipedia:WikiProject Stargate/Episode style sheet for a style guide to writing the actual episode articles.

Proposal

edit
It is proposed that the above rationale be changed to the below summary/rationale as the former sounds like a legal contract (You should only sign something you own)

Discussion

Templated

edit

I moved the list over to the template version, it's not prefect but should make editing much easier. I'm going to look into making a custom template specifically for Entourage in the next few days. In the mean time though this brings it more in line with the LOE WikiProject --Argash 08:27, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Individual Episode Articles

edit

I've begun the process of creating individual articles for each episode so the episode titles in this list are now linkified --Argash 10:30, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Per WP:TV-NC, all articles that don't need to be qualified for disambiguation purposes are no longer qualified (but the qualified names redirect to the articles). --Serge 19:58, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Season 3 - 3.5

edit

Do we have confirmation other than the L.A. Times article in reguards to Season 3 completing in the spring of 07? --Argash 06:52, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well imdb lists season 3 as consisting of 18 episodes so my suspicion is that might be the case but I wouldn't count it as confirmation of any kind, imdb seems all confused, they don't list episodes 13,15 or 16, and only have a date for episode 18 and that's the 3rd of September 2006 which seems slightly unlikely unless there's some drastic rescheduling about to happen. So no confirmation exactly but I'd say it sounds like a fairly likely thing that season 3 will conclude in 07. Seems like an odd thing to do but I never understood tv executives anyway... Style Guide

edit

Copied the style guide over from List of Stargate SG-1 episodes since they have a great list going thats already been featured. I figure since this list is still in the early stages it would be best to adopt a style guide now rather than convert to one later. --Argash 07:36, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Spoiler Alert

edit

It might be nice to have some bold print saying spoilers ahead or something along those lines so that the synopsis of future episodes is not stumbled upon. Nrich239 (talk) 19:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:SPOILER: "Wikipedia no longer carries spoiler warnings, except for the content disclaimer and section headings (such as "Plot" or "Ending") which imply the presence of spoilers." Perhaps sensitive users shouldn't be navigating to encyclopedia articles on a list of episodes while also expecting not to be spoiled. Madcoverboy (talk) 18:42, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Single episodes

edit

I plan on redirecting these per WP:EPISODE soon. Information from multiple secondary sources must be present for a single episode to need an article. This includes reception and development. Single plot summaries and trivia don't make a substantial article. I suggest Wikia and tv.com as alternate venues for this information. TTN 17:56, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

yeah...you need to discuss before you do that move as it is not the consensus. Also, you are just posting that generic message all over every board, and not even looking at the articles....as otherwise you'd be able to tell that most if not all Entourage episodes include more than just trivia and plot, as there are production details, music info, info that went into behind the scenes detail and more in most articles most that has come from outside sources... 68.72.141.190
The information is not enough to actually qualify. Unsourced notes and trivia are the same thing. TTN 00:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
well thats your opinion, but i feel they actually have outside sources if you checked. A discussion needs to be had and a consensus agreed upon before these actions can take place
  • I noticed the episodes don't have a link to get in the pages. I had been putting some errors that have occured during some of these episodes I've noticed while watching the DVD's. I hope they don't get erased. I will input the errors again if they're aren't there. I think this type of information is valuable enough to have on.

Episode notability

edit

All of the episodes of this series fail the notability guidelines for television episodes. The way for these articles to be improved is through the inclusion of real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. That is unlikely to happen, and these only have certain bad aspects (though all may not apply) like containing overly long or one sentence plot summaries, trivia, and quotes. Per that, they need to be a small part of this list.

If there are no objections, these will be redirected soon. Otherwise, discussion will take place here. Please remember that this is not a vote. If you like the information, that's fine and dandy, but your opinion doesn't really count towards anything. The only opinions that do count are ones that that lean towards the inclusion of real world information. TTN 21:17, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article division

edit

I am seriously opposed to this article division. First, it makes it much more difficult to navigate. When newcomers come on, are they really going to want to go to different pages. Secondly, it is very rare for such a breakup in a television related article. The only shows I can think of that have done this are The Simpsons and Lost, however they still list the chart containing every episode minus the summaries in the main article. I don't mind season articles, but basically the article is not living up to its name. I would like to propose bringing the charts back and merging the article back. If anyone feels different, please post your opinion. Sfufan2005 (talk) 15:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've re-added the episode lists back into this article, without the summaries. I plan on expanding each season, including summaries and extra information, so that's why I broke them up into separate articles. This article is not yet cleaned up, so if anyone has time, feel free to do so. I am going to focus my attention on the specific seasons. Gary King (talk) 18:37, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
there used to be article summaries per each episode and they were all removed one day. I remember because I used to fix alot of them up. But after a while various users just started deleting them even trying to get this page marked for deletion.Tj21 (talk) 14:02, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Single episodes

edit

I don't understand why the single episodes articles were deleted. Every other tv series has it.People want to know who was guest starring and what songs were played. How come one person's thought affect everyone else? who is that dude and what gives him the right to do so? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.138.33.239 (talk) 01:19, 16 April 2008 (UTC) I agree, where did they go? This was totally the go-to place to get information about TV show episodes. jeez what a self-important wanker.Reply

It might not have been so much a problem if the episode articles in question weren't sprawling, badly written epics with no especially revealing information that can't be found at half a dozen other sources. And there aren't any 'rights' on Wikipedia, so you have nothing to whine about. 24.222.194.29 (talk) 10:23, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

I understand why you are using TBA but there is no need to Wiki link TBA. It just links to a disambiguation page and does not give the reader any more information. Please remove the Wiki links on TBA. Thanks. Davehi1 (talk) 23:03, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Season 6 Final Episode summary

edit

This is from IGN.com, which has been spot on so far in their episode previews, so I'm pretty sure it can be trusted. Please do not replace with TBA unless you can provide proof that this is false.

"Eric plans a special lunch for Sloan that doesn't go as smoothly as he hoped. Ari tries to convince his wife that buying Terrance's company is not a personal vendetta. Meanwhile, after repeated attempts to get over Jamie-Lynn, Turtle decides to make a grand gesture to be with her; Drama, resolving to give up acting for good, turns down a chance to re-audition for Melrose 2009; and Matt Damon, with help from Lebron James, strongarms Vince to get involved in his charity." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jws7 (talkcontribs) 17:18, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Season Pages

edit

I think we need season pages for the show. 76.116.112.84 (talk) 21:21, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
