I propose merging this article to Liberal Party of Australia (Western Australian Division). There's nothing in either article or anywhere else that I've read that suggests this was anything more than a change of name; they were the same organisation and there's nothing to justify two separate articles. United Labor Party redirects to Australian Labor Party (South Australian Branch), Liberal and Country Party redirects to Liberal Party of Australia (Victorian Division). We don't have separate articles for the Country Party, National Country Party, and National Party. Ivar the Boneful (talk) 13:04, 15 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
- Conditional Support Just as long as it can be done without breaking the election results boxes. Even though they were functionally the Liberal party's WA division, they presented themselves as the "Liberal and Country League" on the ballot papers and are written as such in the reference books. - Tentative support - firstly on the same basis as Kirsdarke01 but also on the basis that if this merge takes place someone puts a bit of work into it. The history of the state branch article is practically nonexistent, while the LCL article is more in-depth but lately unsourced and a bit questionable in places (the two articles more or less contradict each other about the foundation of the party, for one thing). I don't want to see content lost, but it's going to have major undue weight issues (and not actually make coherent sense) if the content from the two articles is just plonked together. I have merged both pages together as per discussion. Also see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australian politics#Previous names of parties for extended discussion. Marcnut1996 (talk) 23:09, 27 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
