With an official single possibly being released from the project that was to follow LASERS, I think it's time to stop pushing the 2010 release until we get word from someone at the label as to which project we are actually getting. Steppin Lasers

March 2010??

Please... Mid-March 2010 is next week! He'd most certainly have a new single out by now (and not I'm Beamin, that track wasn't official it was a promo single). I'm removing the speculated March release date comment.

Ok, well, it is most likely the album will be released in this quarter of the year, and his tour ends in around April, so the album should be out by then. Actually it looks like Atlantic is pushing "I'm Beamin" as the official single bc they shot the video for it on the 25th of March..I'm not saying they wont drop another single b4 the album hits but IDK looks like they are really trying to push "I'm Beamin" and if thats the case we wont see the album until the end of April or Mid-May or maybe even later than that... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.104.147.190 (talk) 15:54, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Genre

I changed the genre field in the infobox, removing "alternative hip hop". All critical reviews for this album, noting mainstream/pop music influences, point away from this style, and any such inclusion should be backed up in the article with sources. And not fishing for sources to support one's opinion of what genre the album fits into. Dan56 (talk) 18:50, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

I've asked about the use of sub-genres in the infobox, and got some helpful information: "When it comes to artist articles, Template:Infobox musical artist#Genre says "Aim for generality (e.g. [[Hip hop music|Hip hop]] rather than [[East Coast hip hop]])." But the album infobox gives no such instruction. Subgenres should be fine as long as they're discussed somewhere in the article's text, where they should be supported by references. As usual, the infobox should reflect the article's contents, which in turn should reflect its sources". (Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums/Archive_38#Hip_hop_sub-genre)

Protest confusion

As I was reading this article the petition/protest section is confusing. First, there is no date to for the petitions, to show when the whole process even started, but that is not the main concern. The date for the protest is listed as October 15th, also saying he tweeted about it. There is a reference for that line says nothing about the protest or the tweet. The article then goes on to say that he tweeted on October 8th announcing "Victory" and that there is a release date. This line is referenced with the same one as the protest. The reference does however say he tweeted on the 8th about the release. This article and the main article about him are written as though the protest did take place, but the date given is a week after they already their "Victory". I am not familiar with anyone of this and I am sure there are editors that check/edit his articles, but I have no clue about any of it. Brinkley32 (talk) 04:57, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

I thought the exact same thing when I read this section. I don't really care about Twitter and who all organized it and when it took place, or even that Lupe Fiasco said he'd attend. What I want to know is why it was held in the first place, and what was the controversy at Atlantic? Were they just taking forever to mess with the tracks? Didn't agree with the material or think it release-worthy? Was this whole thing just a publicity stunt?
