Larry LeSueur at VOA
editVOA White House correspondent?
Larry LeSueur was not VOA White House correspondent at the time he left the Voice of America. I do not have any online source for this, so I am not putting this in the main article, but I worked down the hall from him during this period, when the VOA White House correspondent was Philomena Jurey. See her book, "A Basement Seat to History" (Linus Press, 1995). LeSueur may have covered the White House at some point in his long VOA career, but at the end he was a writer in the Current Affairs division. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:D:9980:5B:4053:BBA5:560D:1D51 (talk) 03:42, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
The anonymous comment above is correct. Larry's final beat was as a congressional correspondent. I edited him occasionally for our internal wire service (not always easy; he was a radio guy and the transcriptions of his reports were often hard to parse as text, even when they sounded okay) between my own reporting assignments. When I arrived at VOA, during the first Nixon Administration, the White House correspondent was Bill Sprague; Bill was succeeded by Philomena Jurey. If Larry ever was assigned to the White House, it would have been before I started to work at VOA in 1970. (I also have no documentary source for this, so I'm adding a comment here.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisKern (talk • contribs) 18:21, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
