I can find two sources discussing DNA.[https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6070244/][https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1751731111001212] There was one at http://www.laclacroixindianpony.com/pdfs/cothranDNAreport but I can't find it even using Wayback.
