Created an article for Kygo as I felt he definitely is note-worthy enough, and he is on the rise. I don't know if there will be any problem with the fact that the name was a redirect before. I also hope someone will fill in some more info like his birthday, etc. Simen113 (talk) 18:08, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Simen113Reply

Birth date

edit

I have added the birth year, which is also present on the Norwegian Wikipedia. I don't think this needs a specific reference, but in case it does, I found his birth year also on the BBC website. Does anybody know the exact birth date? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ivkosky (talkcontribs) 22:46–22:47, 12 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Place of birth

edit

I heard that Kygo was born in Singapore which this article also states. However, the articles in all other languages say Norway. I think Singapore is correct but might be a bit questionable. Who has added the information on the place of birth and are any references? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.196.32.81 (talk) 19:23, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Moving part of the lead section

edit

I don't know how many people frequent the talk page here, but the last paragraph of the lead section is full of singles that Kygo has released. Would it be appropriate to move these singles to a new subsection under Career? Maybe it could also include information about his debut album as well? Orphaned references in Kygo

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Kygo's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ARIA":

  • From List of music recording certifications: "Australian Recording Industry Association". Australian Recording Industry Association. Retrieved 2008-06-02.
  • From Tiësto discography: "ARIA Charts - Accreditations - 2014 Singles". Australian Recording Industry Association. Retrieved 5 May 2013.
  • From ARIA Charts: "ARIA Charts - Gold and Platinum ARIA Accreditation Awards". Australian Recording Industry Association. Retrieved 16 October 2011.
  • From Dillon Francis discography: "ARIA Charts – Accreditations – 2015 Singles" (PDF). Australian Recording Industry Association. Retrieved April 5, 2015.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 14:27, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Birth place

edit

Kygo's birthplace is disputed. I have found references to both Bergen, Norway and Singapore:

It seems like a mistake on Billboard's part, but I'm unsure of the accuracy. Any other sources? Blue Adventure (talk) 03:48, 13 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Blue Adventure : He said to Your EDM that it's Singapore . So now there's that Q&A, the Billboard article (which contradicts the bio) and the Your EDM interview. --Sofffie7 (talk) 14:50, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Sofffie7: Thank you for the source! Do you think this would be enough to consider that Kygo was born in Singapore? Blue Adventure (talk) 22:49, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Blue Adventure: Hey, I don't know if it's enough. I actually wrote Singapore in his bio before seeing the problem and afterwards I added the other source I found. You may remove that part if you want more confirmation, and perhaps to be consistent with the infobox, which mentions both cities. --Sofffie7 (talk) 08:23, 4 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Sofffie7: I actually removed Bergen considering that the only source for it was being contradicted, and that Kygo himself stated that he was born in Singapore, so I think your edits are fine. Thanks again for your help :) Blue Adventure (talk) 21:37, 4 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Abroad worker vs works abroad

edit

Does this page really need the link to the wikipedia page 'abroad worker' in the background section? The term 'abroad worker' in this sentence is very clumsy English. It would be more common to say "and Lars Gørvell-Dahll, who works abroad in the maritime industry". Thoughts?

more compact version of a KYGO song (for improvement of future KYGO albums)

edit

This song sounds like a more compact version of a KYGO song, doesn't it? Maybe someone can send it to him, so his song will get easier to learn (and thus even more successfool-) (I do not have social media accounts, for now)

Louder is also good. (and similar to a simpler version of Kygo songs)
