Pond/lake

edit

The majority of sources describe the entity as a lake (jezero; e.g. [1], [2][3]), so I've modified the description accordingly. --Eleassar my talk 08:53, 29 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

At 3.8 ha it's probably better characterized as a pond in English (although lake is also acceptable) based on these criteria; but there is a lot of variation in the definitions. In any case, I'd also refer to Koseze Pond (Koseški bajer) and Lake Koseze (Koseško jezero), as currently in the article, to maintain the semantic equivalence of the names. I don't understand completely. Do you therefore suggest it would be better to use the term pond for this body of water? --Eleassar my talk 19:07, 29 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
The article title should definitely stay at "Koseze Pond" to match the semantics of the most common name, Koseški bajer. However, for the generic description in the running text of the article either "(large) pond" or "small lake" would be acceptable, based on these criteria. But the Slovene description as jezero is largely irrelevant for deciding how to refer to it generically in English because the semantics of jezero don't fully correspond to the semantics of lake. Given the article title with Pond, it's probably best to refer to it as a "pond" in the running text too simply for consistency. Doremo (talk) 04:09, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Thanks. --Eleassar my talk 13:08, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
