Image
editThe current image is nice, but unfortunately things have changed, and West Maui no longer looks like that due to the addition of 20 turbines by Kaheawa Wind Power. I plan on replacing the image with a duplicate from the same or similar spot. Viriditas (talk) 04:44, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

IPA
editIs the K really a "t" sound? YellowAries2010 (talk) 01:04, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
- OK, I wrote that before I even checked thew IPA. I went onto the article and saw this note:
- [k] and [t], spelled k, are variants of a single consonant. [k] is almost universal at the beginnings of words, while [t] is most common before the vowel i. [t] is also more common in the western dialects, as on Kauaʻi, while [k] predominates on the Big Island.
- So, is it policy to respect the most local pronunciation or the "national" one (or both)? YellowAries2010 (talk) 01:08, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
