The page has been attacked again with multiple copyright violations from http://www.khukhrains.com, the page has been again rolled back, and semi protected. The site owner has had to bring this to our attention again - I would not like to see him having to do that again. Therefore please keep to text that does not violate the copyright of others. The Panjab Past and Present

The Panjab Past and Present is a journal. We don;t have enough information in the citations to determine which issue/article etc is being referred to. I'd be grateful if someone could resolve that and I'd be even more grateful if someone could get me a copy of the article because some of what we say sounds distinctly dodgy to me. This article was full of original research, synthesis and puffery - it simply isn't good enough: better to say nothing at all than to pander to casteist fantasies. - Sitush (talk) 21:46, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Following Punjabi Khatri surnames are identified as the original Khukhrain clan. Anand, Suri, Chadha, Bhasin, Kohli, Sethi, Sahni and Sabharwal

Anand, Bhasin and Kohli have maintained their original Gotra (And you can provide a link to the Gotra in Wikepedia) as Kashyap whereas Suri changed to Bhargav, Chadha & Sahni changed to Virvans, Sethi changed to Pulast and Sabharwal changed to Hans ANILANAND (talk) 08:44, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Khukhrain ( खुखरायण ) Khatris initially consisted eight clans : Anand, Bhasin, Chadha, Kohli, Sabharwal, Sahni, Sethi and Suri. Chandhok clan is derived from Chadha. I.P. Anand's autobiography as a source

As the cited source mentions, the relevant claims regarding Khokhrains & Khokhars are based on the quotes from the autobiography of I.P. Anand, namely Crusader’s Century: In Pursuit of Ethical Values. But I.P. Anand was a businessman, not a historian. He also worked for ILO. In fact, he was just a graduate in Economics, as mentioned in his obituary by the ILO. So, his autobiography doesn't meet WP:HISTRS standards, thereby can't be cited here. - NitinMlk (talk) 22:04, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

Please add: Khukhrains were ‘munshi’ to the Sukkarchakkia ‘misl’ of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and a Khukhrain 'munshi', Sohan Lal Suri, was in the pay of British East India Company, even after the annexation of Punjab by the British. Sohan Lal Suri provided intelligence about the inner workings of the Sikh Empire to the British, greatly helping their cause.
