Kazimira or Kazimiera?
editI know both spellings can be found in official documents. Her personnal website gives "Kazimiera", but the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, for example, gives "Kazimira". Why are there two different spellings? Which one is the better one? And why is it better than the other? Švitrigaila 10:21, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Dunno really, but "Kazimiera" would be a more custom spelling: a feminine version of "Kazimieras" (Casimir). Renata 12:59, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Someone posted an answer here, but I don't speak Lithuanian, although my user name is what it is. Could you translate it, please? Švitrigaila 09:23, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Her real name (in all the documents) is Kazimira, but this name is russian, so around 1990 she simply changed it to Kazimiera (lithuanian name variant) in relations with the public. This was simply populistic move - any change in her documents wasn't performed. --Gvorl 07:34, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your answer. I think it should be written in the article itself, but it needs a reference. Švitrigaila 10:18, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
