Merger proposal

I propose that Karen Stintz mayoral campaign, 2014 be merged into Karen Stintz. There really isn't enough material on the campaign to justify a separate article, particularly as she a) has withdrawn and b) was only polling 3 or 4%. 192.235.242.38 (talk) 01:49, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Don't merge – If the article is up to date, then there is no reason to merge. If it isn't up to date, then you update "Karen Stintz mayoral campaign, 2014" article. Kingjeff (talk) 03:00, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- merge - IMO, her mayoral campaign is not that significant or notable on its own. The polling numbers don't matter. Remember this is a world-wide encyclopedia. I would go further. All of the similar candidate campaign articles should probably be merged into the one 2014 toronto mayoral campaign article. Each repeats biographical material from the person's individual article. And each candidate's platform is not that notable on its own, either. If anything, these might be appropriate to be written afterwards, don't you think? Alaney2k (talk) 03:12, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Comment – This is clear case of content forking. She is a city councillor and a very public one at that. Therefore, she has and will get enough media copverage. Therefore, it's a notable article. Kingjeff (talk) 03:14, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Don't merge them into this article and merge all them into the 2014 toronto mayoral campaign. Just because her campaign is over doesn't mean that it is any less notable. It was never notable in the first place. Grognard 123chess456 (talk) 07:56, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Merge - in fact merge all these campaign articles. I never saw the point of having individual articles where the main article would suffice. In fact the main article is lacking sufficient information because the content is so dispersed. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 11:17, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Merge, I'm of the same opinion as EncyclopediaUpdaticus - I didn't see the need for separate articles for these things. Now that Ms.Stintz's campaign is done, it should become a paragraph or two in the Karen Stintz article. PKT(alk) 12:35, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Keep, for now - there's not much here and not likely to be much more to add given that she has withdrawn before the election, however merging these articles at this point will make a mess. Keep for now, merge after the election. Ivanvector (talk) 16:24, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
