This article could be much longer
editI am currently doing research with the KPZ equation. I noticed that this article is very short despite huge recent progress in the topic. We start to say that KPZ equation is 'solved' now. Many different initial conditions have been explored and exact solutions were found. New and beautiful experiments were done. Higher dimensions were explored. Etc.
I do not have the time (and probably not enough perspective) to re-write this article my self. Can some-one do it? I would be happy to help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sethyvenatem (talk • contribs) 08:38, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
Resolving the "dispute" around the physical "derivation"
editThis section requires more context to explain that (1) this is a purely non-rigorous exercise that still yields interesting results (need citations) and (2) the quadratic term doesn't have a good mathematical meaning in general and (3) that when people (physicists included) talk about the KPZ equation we are really more talking about the Hopf-Cole solutions and related constructions.
