Barbara Tuchman's "Stilwell and the American Experience in China" and James Chace's "Acheson" constitute background material on the China Hands and their fate in the 1950s.Tom Cod (talk) 06:06, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

expansion?

edit

This article needs to be expanded beyond the end of Vincent's career, but I have no time now. I did change the section heading, which anyone who writes more about the course of his career should change back! ch (talk) 03:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bias

edit

This article is rather clearly biased in favor of Vincent. It is not true that Mao's Communists shouldered the brunt of the fighting against the Japanese, and the claim that Vincent predicted the Sino-Soviet split strikes me as unlikely to say the least.

In my opinion the first statement should be rewritten to indicate that this was Vincent's opinion, rather than a fact, and the second should be either sourced or deleted. T Brahe (talk) 00:55, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Vincent & NKVD

edit

A recent edit added the following claim:

"NKVD files released after the fall of the Soviet Union indicate that Vincent was, in fact, a communist agent."

This should be properly documented or promptly removed. Regardless of which, please note on the talk page. Rgr09 (talk) 06:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
