The article cuts out abruptly in 1944 when Ruth would have been only about 40. What happened to her after? When did she die? Has she even died? Surtsicna (talk) 21:29, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ Surtsicna Extant sources about Ruth simply end in 1944. Unfortunately there are no additional materials to my knowledge about her in newspaper archives, or reference materials. Not every notable person receives the coverage they deserve. Likewise, information about her birth and death are not extant in the current literature. The best we have is her given age at the time of her Metropolitan Opera debut. Ancestry.com has no government records giving us clues to her birth or death. I personally suspect that "Joan Ruth" was a stage name, or that she may have married; making finding further materials challenging as they may be under another name.
