TALK discussion
editThanks for a good article. I would like to start the TALK article. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 13:18, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
New NEWS today, for future editing
editI notice her name in an article about the movie, "Imitation Game".
Headline-1: Toronto: “Imitation Game” Scores Thunderous Ovations, Rapturous Reviews
QUOTE: "The rest of the cast is marvelous. Keira Knightley, already so good this year in “Begin Again,” will finally break through as Joan Clarke, the mathematician who nearly marries Turing and stands by him to the bitter end." -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 13:23, 11 September 2014 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for future editing.
Where's the portrait/photo?
editAn action photo or portrait-picture always improves a WP article. I don't have one, but a Google-search shows many possibilities. Does someone have time/interest to help? -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 12:47, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- The difficulty factor is finding one free from copyright restrictions. --j⚛e deckertalk 22:28, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
More material
editThis BBC article on her has a lot of material [1]. Onanoff (talk) 16:58, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
There should be a reference to her in 'Breaking the Code' as well as 'The Imitation Game'.

Kerry Howard
editThe name of Kerry Howard as the researcher into female involvement in WWII is linked with a wiki article on TV actress Kerry Eliza Howard, which shows no indication of activities outside acting. Is the identification correct?Cloptonson (talk) 19:28, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
After 60
editThe article says Joan Murray worked at GCHQ until she retired at 60. The normal retirement age was 60, but it was possible to continue in a lower grade ('regression'), which she did. But I can't offer any proof, except that I worked there from 1978 and I remember her. Snugglepuss (talk) 20:12, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
Why would you ever remove the reference to Alan big booty turing
editLook I am new here so forgive me if I am wrong but I came across it saying “Alan ‘big booty’ Turing” in one of the references and I could be a reasonable homosexual and just laugh and not change such a harmless thing. 2601:47:4104:5D0:5575:3A7C:5D7:EB0A (talk) 01:48, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
