The Gallery is very poor/empty! Esfahan has tens of magnificent historical buildings and bridges and streets! where are the pictures? Why not put a small picture of each with links to either internal or external pictures? Each of these buildings can be the subject of a big article themselves.

By the way, Pol-e Khaju is not only a bridge it is a weir too. It was used to raise the water level to flow in Maddies (man made canals).

We need an economy section, we need a box with population, location, etc... in this article. There is a lot to be done.Khosrow II 19:00, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Sister cities

According to this article http://www.mehrnews.com/en/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsID=392389

TEHRAN, Oct. 10 (MNA) – The 2006 cultural capital of the Islamic world, Isfahan in central Iran, and Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, once called the Bride of the Middle East, were named sister cities as the officials inked an agreement, Isfahan mayor announced on Monday.

The article further states

Many cities, including Mecca, Lahore, Florence, Kuwait City, Barcelona, Freiburg, and Lyon have been already twinned with Isfahan. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.11.73.11 (talk) 12:15, 3 February 2007 (UTC).

Duke Ellington song

"Isfahan" was originally titled "Elf" and was written months before their 1963 Middle East tour; thus, claiming that the beauty of the city inspired the song would be a stretch (one might claim that the beauty of the city inspired the re-titling, but that would need a reference). Armenians of Isfahan?

If I remember correctly there is a huge Armenian presence in Iran. How did that come about and can it be mentioned in this article? -Daniel Blanchette 05:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I appreciate your edit but it doesnt belong in the Elamite section. There is about a thousand years of history in between the Elamite period and the Arab conquests. If you have enough information to create a whole section about Isfahan under Arab rule, please go ahead, ask if you need help. Thanks.Hajji Piruz 18:28, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
