editAditya Kabir, I think you're overrelying on the Sahara Standard article: apart from any questions of copyright, I think this has the result of duplicating a lot of that article's puffery. – Uanfala 18:50, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
- Uanfala, still working. Take a look now. You can lend a hand too, if you have time. Aditya(talk • contribs) 19:48, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
Alleged links to Boko Haram and resurfacing of fundamentalist speeches, I think this article must be review. Bello Na'im (talk) 22:46, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, it has to be reviewed Ibrahimmusa4 (talk) 20:48, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
Controversies
editThe Controversies section is constantly removed without reason other than 'potential libelous' despite being a well-sourced and fairly standard government official controversy section. The account that continues to take this section down (Fullomayo) has not responded to an inquiry on their rationale or pointed out the parts they take issue with. This is a government official with a major national controversy that just happens to have the Wikipedia section on that controversy taken down by an account that has only ever edited this article with praise or removed potentially damaging content, that severely calls into question the neutrality of that account and by extension, this article which they have played a major role in shaping. We need to come to a consensus on how the section can be improved and brought back. Watercheetah99 (talk) 18:52, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- There is some WP:SYNTH in the section, but for the most part its well sourced. It needs some tidying, not wholesale removal. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 13:28, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you ScottishFinnishRadish, I appreciate the help. Could you show me the WP:SYNTH parts? I will edit them out and tidy the section later. Watercheetah99 (talk) 15:34, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Watercheetah99, actually, after reading through a bit more carefully it is adequately sourced. I was tripped up with the citation for the paper on academia.edu being in the middle of the sentence, and assumed that the statements before were sourced to that paper, which would have been synth based on a primary source. However, the information is covered in the citation at the end of the sentence. I think that the academia.edu cite should be at the end of the sentence. I do think the section still needs some significant tidying and tightening up, as it should be a high level summary rather than a blow by blow, but I no longer have issues with synth. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:46, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- The Controversies HEADING is inherently POV and I'm not sure why it was reintroduced. It's totally unnecessary as well, unless someone is trying to push a POV, as the subhead and text clearly describes the issue in NPOV terms that are well-sourced. I will be removing it again. ♟♙ (talk) 17:55, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Someone is trying to push a POV, and is using false reference. Bello Na'im (talk) 23:08, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami → Isa Ali Pantami – Per WP:TITLESINTITLES and MOS:COMMONNAME Princess of Ara 16:04, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Move - There is no need to put professor everywhere and it's against WP:TITLESINTITLES. Watercheetah99 (talk) 17:08, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Even the professorship has come under question so it should definitely be removed. Watercheetah99 (talk) 17:24, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
