Involution algebra

edit

The line Involution algebra or *-algebra was removed with the comment "(term isn't used)". This seems incorrect. The link involution algebra points to *-algebra; the Encyclopedia of Mathematics has an article "Involution algebra" [1]; the term is used in books such as "Introduction to orthogonal, symplectic, and unitary ..." by Carl R. Riehm (2011) page ix, "An Introduction to Category Theory by Harold Simmons (2011) page 154, "Algebras of Linear Transformations" by D.R. Farenick (2001) page 191, "The Logic of Quantum Mechanics", Enrico G. Beltrametti, Gianni Cassinelli, Gian-Carlo Rota (2010) page 20, "Topology and Geometry in Physics" Eike Bick, Frank Daniel Steffen (2005) page 305. It seems quite clear that the term is in use and a plausible candidate for this page. The Disambiguator (talk) 18:27, 23 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

combine involution categories

edit

These three categories (below) should be combined on this page into a new category "Involution (metaphysics)",for consistency with "Wiki main page"(Involution/links)article. The Wiki descriptions of Philosophy, Esotericism and Meher Baba on this page are easily read as metaphysical pursuits or biases...Arnlodg (talk) 19:13, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[1] 1) Involution (philosophy), a "turning in" on one's self 2) Involution (esoterism), several notions of a counterpart to evolution 3) Involution (Meher Baba), the inner path of the human soul to the selfArnlodg (talk) 22:33, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
