- information is available on the CIE website www.cie.org.uk
- have a look at the edexcel igcse website —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.142.59.52 (talk) 19:39, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
editThe section "Schools providing IGCSE" seems like just an advertisement for one school, did the person who added it have any relation to the school and if not why did they not list more, I think this section should be removed as it only has potential to be an advertising space. Hie will these results work in applying for a job? Takudzwa Chinotungamira (talk) 16:48, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
Recent Wikification
editWhilst the recent Wikification by Itsmejudith has made a number of improvements to the text in this article (it is now considerably clearer), it is also evident that a huge proportion on the content in the article has been lost, unnecessarily in my opinion. Wouldn't it have been more beneficial to wikify the lost content instead of deleting it? The interview should definitely be referenced as a source instead of appearing in the article body, but the list of available subjects is an informative part of the article and a good portion of some poor wikipedian's work has been simply thrown into the void. 2009 results
editDoes anyone have a reference to justify the following part of the article?
In 2009, the lowest average IGCSE scores were achieved due to the hard nature of the new examination system.
--Robinspw (talk) 20:01, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Not only is it not referenced, but is also very unclear; the lowest average IGCSE scores of what? Therefore, I'm being bold and removing. Jerbal Argon (talk) 13:53, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Boys
editThere is something missing in the article: IGCSEs are popular with many English independent boys' schools but less popular with corresponding English independent girls' schools. As far as I can tell, this is because they can be used with less coursework than GCSEs, and that seems to be better for boys. This is hinted at here and slightly more explicitly here. --Rumping (talk) 17:38, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
BTEC 3 recommended after IGCSE
editIn the first sentence: to prepare them for International Baccalaureate, A Level and BTEC Level 3 (which is recommended for higher tier students). Recommended by whom? for what purpose? Is this just an advertisement for BTEC Level 3?

murcia spain igcse confusion
editwe always face the dilema in murcia spain. we are the preparer of igcse and sat university entrance exams .we have 6 international schools in murcia british and american plus 11 bilingual schools. alot of parents dont know which way to go. they need to know that it is interchangable. one can prepare spain usa or uk exam and go to harvard murcia oxford. the math is different id say. the sat american test is more about thinking out of the box.. solving problems like einstein would. imagine it.. look for shortcuts..the british test is very formula oriented. plug in to which fomula. We prefer sat math .the igcse for other subjects is alot of memorizing.. dates places names.in murcia we really need to talk to the parents teachers and kids about this..every year we get calls from the british schools about which test. as for english language..all schools here do a great job.. american school or london school. they dont have a native level due to not living abroad sufficiently.. the top here is a paper called c2 proficiency which is like an 11 yr old native child.. we need more living abroad a full year to get native level.our director s marcus. has been at it for 26 years here every spring explaining the same thing about the exam............ if you got lemons you sell lemonade.. trouble is here in murcis we got all.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.21.167.135 (talk) 05:58, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
