editThe start of this wikipedia article states that INAP stands for ... Application Protocol. I think this is wrong. All this family of application protocols are named Application Parts, i.e. INAP, MAP, CAP, etc. That is, all these *AP abbreviations end in Application Part.
In terms of the SS7 stack, they are all one level above TCAP (where TCAP is also called an Application Part, perhaps confusingly).
