editIf anyone's got anything which opposes some of the claims that are made in this article, or has anything to add for the sections on Protestants and Catholics or the industrial relations side of things in this country, feel free to add them in. I couldn't really find that much information and didn't really have the patience to look at Google for hours :) XYaAsehShalomX 18:14, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

Style problems.
editHey; just added the tags on the page, as it could do with a bit of editing to make it into less of a chore to read. Sceptre (talk) 10:10, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Human rights in Belarus
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Human rights in Belarus's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 22:12, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
Certain western countries...
edit...such as the United Nations and Human Rights Watch? Really? It's a sign of a good article that the government's own perspective is presented, but it's the sign of a poor one when that perspective starts dictating the titles of sections in the article. I should also add that the "government perspective" section, using what appears to be a single source from the government itself, creates the impression that the UN approves of Belarus, an impression directly contradicted by the information presented later on the UN's attitude (unfortunately not entirely sourced directly from the UN either). It's also directly contradicted by information about the Belarus/UN relationship on the website of Human Rights Watch, the first organization cited in this article and not a western country or any sort of country at all.
I could also get into the fact that there's borderline redundant information presented in favor of the government, or that there's what appears to be original research presented to oppose the UN view by arguing that it's influenced by US geopolitical interests (note the contradiction between accepting the UN when it's presented as supportive as in the first section and rejecting it when it isn't), or the fact that the lead references several critical NGOs but the body has at least one instance where the statement that NGOs are critical of Belarus is marked with "citation needed," or any number of other issues. Suffice to say that the article as currently written needs some work.
The same issues bleed over into the article on Belarus itself, where "western countries" take issue with human rights in Belarus, ignoring the fact that the UN and NGOs (yes, even ones based in western countries) are not themselves western countries, and more importantly ignoring the fact that the whole "it's just the west that has a problem" line is exactly what Belarus's leadership says in its own defense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.77.214.152 (talk) 15:23, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
