User:KyouikuKaizen, who wrote almost all of the article, has declared a conflict of interest.[1] I will tackle the article soon, but at a glance it really doesn't look like it meets WP:NSCHOOL, and it may end up getting nominated for deletion. Grayfell (talk) 01:32, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

@Grayfell: I think that the Hinoki-Niji-Iro controversy itself would make the school notable for its own article but it has to be determined how the articles are set up. Hinoki was not a part of another school district while Niji-Iro is. See Niji-Iro_Japanese_Immersion_Elementary_School (This was my last revision before changes were made to the article) @KyouikuKaizen: I had the impression that the Hinoki school was killed once the charter ran out, and the newspaper articles acted that way (see "Livonia district removes charter, takes over Japanese immersion school"). While Hinoki and Niji-Iro are de jure two separate entities, one newspaper article stated that de facto most of the teachers and students moved from Hinoki to Niji-Iro. Okay, I'm not chomping at the bit to AFD or anything. Like I said, at a glance it looks thin, but that just means more sources are needed. That Detroit News article doesn't load for me, but other sources are around. Regardless, right now the article is too promotionally written and has an WP:EL problem. Cool, good catch. This is messy stuff. It's clear there's an article here, as you say, based on the charter being revoked. The school doesn't appear to have a campus, and the mailing address on the website is for an executive suite. I understand that this is not the same as Niji-Iro, but there is a lot of overlap.
