About the infobox

My expansions
editI have greatly expanded the plot summary, made small additions to the character list, and created a new section about the magical objects. The plot summary I found when I came to this page was a bit vague, and I understand why. The plot to this book is quite complicated. I'm usually good at summarizing plots without getting bogged down in details, but this is the sort of book where it's hard to convey the logical flow of the plot without explaining at least some of the details. My summary is fairly long, but I tried to make it as succinct as I could, while giving a sense of what happens in the story. I left out things that didn't advance the plot. For example, I hardly mention Sister Mary Ursula at all, because her character, while colorful and prominent in the story, does not really have a significant effect on the story's outcome. marbeh raglaim (talk) 16:15, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Genre
editThe infobox and introduction to this article call the book fantasy. I'm not sure that's strictly accurate. Technically, it's science fiction: it takes place in the future and centers on futuristic technology, such as VR and artificial intelligence. While most of the novel involves a fantasy game, I don't think that makes the book itself fantasy. Still, I'm going to change the article to say that it's both science fiction and fantasy. marbeh raglaim (talk) 23:57, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Magic Artifacts
editThis section is kind of unnecessary because we just need to give an overview of the plot, not every single item in the book. This is like putting every single location; we don;t need it to give the reader an overall idea. However, I think we do need the info, so you should consider merging it into the plot section (if not already). :-) Thanks! - My main reason for wanting this section was that I wanted to consolidate information in the plot summary. The plot is incredibly complicated, and it took me a while to file it down to a manageable length. (I am too lazy to look it up right now, but I do remember that one of the advice for writing articles on books is not to have it consist only of a plot summary.) I generally removed descriptions of characters and placed it in the section on the character list. I felt that the descriptions of the magical artifacts was too much detail for the summary, but might be useful for another section. I still made sure to keep the section relatively short. marbeh raglaim (talk) 01:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)::Ok, fine, I suppose... though if someone else removes it should stay removed. Thanks! - I am actually considering giving it to an editor. I don't mean just for this one question; I think the whole article maybe should be reviewed. marbeh raglaim (talk) 02:54, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
