editI've reverted recent changes that had described the band and record as dream pop. According to this source used in the Dream pop article, Cocteau Twins influenced dream pop but are not described as being part of it. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 11:35, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- That's OK. There was no dreampop in the early/mid-'80s. Head over Heels is clearly a post-punk/goth album, dark, noisy and otherworldly, related to the music of Siouxsie & The Banshees, X-mal Deutschland and others. It really has not much to do with the later dreampop movement. Maybe MBV drew on some guitar riffs, but MBV was generally "goth-drenched" in their early years.
