Merge proposal

edit

I propose merging Halieutopsis vermicularis with this page, although FishBase still has a separate entry for H. vermicularis it does have a note that it is considered to be a synonym of H. nasuta, as does the IUCN Red List page for H. vermicularis. Catalog of Fishes is more definite. Quetzal1964 (talk) 12:13, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Support. Fishbase still uses Dibranchus nasutus. The discrepancy with CoF goes back to 2011 and that synonym note was 2014, so it may not be resolved soon. ECoF makes a clear statement in favour of Halieutopsis nasuta and the IUCN and Fishbase notes are compatible with this. The merger makes sense and the taxonomy section already explains the issue.  —  Jts1882 | talk  13:34, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
